NEON Records is a company founded in Flatwoods, Kentucky by
five businessmen
wish to give the market access to the vast supply of local talent outside of
Nashville circles. Some have said it's base stands for North East
Of Nashville.
In 1998, one of the original founders, Dwight O. Bailey, purchased
all the shares and is now President of the company. Neon's very first
album was nominated for Independent
Record of the Year and the company as Label of the Year for Dwight Whitley's
"Brotherly Love" Dwight Whitley is the brother of country music
legend, the late Keith Whitley.
Neon has also produced several videos for the legendary Ralph Stanley. Neon produced his "50th Year Anniversary" with special guest Ricky Skaggs and Dwight Yokam. Picking up the theme of his "Legacy Continues" the music video shows scenes of Ralph's lead vocalist and guitar player, his son, Ralph Stanley II. Also featured are a grandson, Nathan, the Issacs, and many more!
The next video release will be "On the Road" with Ralph Stanley, scheduled for release in December, 2000.
Staying with Bluegrass, Neon has produced two albums for Dave Evans, "Look at Me Now", featuring the hit single, "Here's Mud in Your Eye" and a record album, "High Waters".
